Covered Services
As a member of CareSource, your child will get all services covered by the Children's Buy-In (CBI) Program. Please refer to the CBI Member Handbook for a complete list of covered and non-covered services. For CBI premium and cost sharing information, Premium and Cost Sharing Information.
CBI covered services include medically necessary:
- Physician office visits and immunizations
- Inpatient and outpatient hospital services
- Emergency room and urgent care services
- Prescription drugs
- Mental health and substance abuse services
- Ancillary services including durable medical equipment (DME), home health care, laboratory work, radiology services and ambulance use
- Limited nursing home care
- Case management
Other things our health professionals can help you with include:
- Personal interaction with a registered nurse
- Help with understanding your child's benefits
- Health education
- How to get needed care for your child
- Finding doctors and specialists
- Making appointments
- Help with your needs between doctor visits, NOT just when your child is sick
Some services that are not covered under the CBI program include:
- Dental
- Vision
- Private duty nursing
- Chiropractic
- Non-emergency transportation
- Custodial/residential or non-skilled care
