CareSource Promotes Jonas Thom to Vice President of Community Programs

DAYTON, Ohio, February 9, 2012CareSource, a non-profit public-sector managed care company, has promoted Jonas Thom, Director of Behavior Health, to the Vice President of Community Programs position within the Health Services department. He will be responsible for CareSource’s community outreach programs, including the new community based model that employs Patient Navigators to better manage their high-risk members.

Thom brings more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health outpatient therapy and case management. Before coming to CareSource in 2010, he was the Director of the Ohio Coordinating Centers for Integrating Care and the Ohio Coordinating Centers for Assertive Community Treatment (ACT).

“Jonas has assumed a strong leadership role in the development and implementation of our new community based model,” said Craig Thiele, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at CareSource. “Now that we have Patient Navigators in the field, we look forward to creating new opportunities and partnerships with the communities we serve and Jonas will certainly lead those initiatives.”

Thom received his Bachelor of Arts in Socio-Psychology from the College of Mount St. Joseph, Cincinnati, and his Master of Arts in Individual and Community Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. He also holds an Ohio Professional Clinical Counselors license.
