CareSource Board of Trustees Welcomes Lisa Kloppenberg

Former University of Dayton School of Law Dean joins CareSource Board

DAYTON, Ohio, February 9, 2012 – CareSource welcomes its newest board member, Lisa Kloppenberg, Professor of Law at the University of Dayton School of Law, to its Board of Trustees.

Kloppenberg served as the Dean at the University of Dayton School of Law from 2001 – 2011. When she took on the assignment in 2001 at the age of 39, she was the youngest Dean at a law school and one of only 24 women in the country holding a top position among the nation's 183 accredited law schools.

During her tenure as the Dean, she championed curriculum reform – bringing national recognition for the way the school rethought legal education. She also led successful efforts to diversify the faculty and established the first accelerated five-semester law degree in the nation.

Kloppenberg graduated from the University of Southern California and the University of Southern California Law Center. She was the editor-in-chief of the Southern California Law Review. Today, she is a published expert in constitutional law and an advocate of Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) and devotes her time to children’s issues.

“Lisa has always encouraged others to think about the underserved and those who do not have access to legal representation. She has seen and helped people firsthand scarred by violence,” Morris added. “Lisa is well-respected in the community and will bring another level of expertise and passion for the underserved to our Board.”
