Health and Wellness

COVID-19 Vaccine Lottery

Get your COVID-19 vaccine for a chance to win $500!

To win, you must meet these eligibility rules:

  • Be a Georgia Families, Georgia Pathways, or PeachCare for Kids member (Planning 4 Healthy Babies’ members are not eligible.)
  • Gotten at least one vaccine dose from Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, or Johnson & Johnson.
  • Gotten at least one vaccine from a CareSource network provider.

Dental Care

For Georgia Families® members under age 21 (per yearly limits):

Preventive care:

  • Two exams, routine x-rays and cleanings (once every six months)
  • Tooth sealants (protective coatings on molar teeth)
  • Fluoride treatment
  • Space maintainers for adult teeth (after early removal of baby teeth)
  • Two tobacco or substance use sessions from your dentist.

Basic care:

  • Fillings
  • Prefabricated (special crowns)
  • Dental extractions (tooth taken out)
  • Root canal treatments
  • Periodontal (gum) care and gum maintenance.

Major care:

  • Dentures/partials
  • Permanent custom crowns on root canal treated first molar teeth.
  • Oral SurgerySedation and general anesthesia

Orthodontic care:

  • Medically necessary full braces for teens up to age 20.
  • Medical necessary individual areas braces or braces for children age 12 and under.

For Georgia Families members age 21 and older:

  • Limited exams, tooth removed, and some other oral surgery with sedation/anesthesia.
  • Two routine exams and cleanings (one every six months)
  • Two tobacco or substance use counselingsessions from your dentist.
  • $700 that can be used towards:
  • Fillings
  • Periodontal (gum) care
  • Dentures and Partials
  • Root canals on front and premolar (side) teeth
  • Some types of dental crowns (full tooth covering)

Pregnant Women in the Georgia Families and Right from the Start Medical Assistance Group, (RSM) get the benefits above and more:

  • Extra gum care and surgery
  • Expanded benefits include the above per age category (some code limitations apply)

A PA (prior authorization) is needed for:

  • Root canal
  • Periodontal (gum care)
  • Partial and dentures
  • Some oral surgery
  • Orthodontics (Only under age 21)
  • General anesthesia and hospital cases
  • Some increased service quantities

All Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) non-covered service requests.

Eye Care

A yearly eye exam and $75 towards glasses or contact lenses for adults is covered.

A PA is needed, but not limited to:

  • Contacts
  • Vision surgery

myStrengthSM

Take charge of your mental health with myStrength. It offers support to help improve your mood, mind, body and spirit. You can find it online or the mobile app. This is at no cost to you. Visit bh.mystrength.com/caresource.

Over-the-Counter Items

You can get many OTC drugs at no cost to you. You will need a written prescription. This can be:

  • Allergy medicine
  • Antacids
  • First aid cream
  • Lancets and pen needles
  • Multivitamins
  • Nicotine gum and patches

Mom and Baby

Breast Pump

Lactation services are covered for you. You can also get a breast pump at no cost to you. Ameda Direct and Aeroflow have online tips and a specialist for you. They also have many breast pumps to choose from. To learn more:

New Baby Welcome Gift

To welcome your new baby, CareSource will send you a gift of baby items. You will be sent this if you are part of Care Management and have gone to prenatal and postpartum visits.

Youth Programs

CareSource partners with groups across the state.

  • Boys & Girls Club®: $65 towards the fee for Boys and Girls Clubs in Georgia is covered.
  • YMCA® : Memberships are covered at many YMCAs across the state.
  • Girl Scouts® : Girl Scout fees are covered in grades K through 8 and adults. These offers may not be in all parts of Georgia. Some may be based on eligibility. Please call us to learn more.

To sign up for these groups, go to your local club or on their websites. You will need your CareSource ID. You will also need the member’s first and last name and date of birth. Some groups have even more discounts. Ask what is included when you sign up. These offers may not be available in all parts of Georgia. Some may be based on eligibility.   • A free blood pressure monitor if you have high blood pressure and are part of Care Management.
  • A free full bedding set for kids with asthma and part of Care Management.

Transportation

You can get free rides to and from your health care visits. We also offer free rides to food pantries, grocery stores for curbside pickup, or other food distribution sites. We also offer trips to the pharmacy. This does not apply to Georgia Pathways to Coverage ™ Members over the age of 21. Learn more.

CareSource Mobile App

Take your CareSource plan on the go with the CareSource mobile app. The app lets you get to your My CareSource account from your mobile device. This is for both iPhone and Android systems. Get it free through the App Store® or Google Play®.
