A Partnership in “Service” and “Community”

(Dayton, OH – July 17, 2019)

CareSource and the YMCA of Metro Atlanta have renewed their commitment to CareSource members with free family memberships to the 18 YMCA branch locations across metro Atlanta. The partnership initially began in July of 2018 and was so well received, it has been extended.

Both non-profits have a history of going beyond to identify non-traditional member benefits, which include: fitness/wellness, programs and specialized classes in order to promote healthy spirit, mind and body. All of which, help improve the lives of members and the community as a whole.

CareSource members have the opportunity to enroll in a family membership to have access to the YMCA’s state of the art facilities that also provide free childcare while members workout. Additional, no-cost benefits include: personal coaching, group exercise classes, weight-loss management and a nationally recognized Diabetes Prevention Program.

“The collaboration between CareSource and the YMCA of Metro Atlanta is a natural fit for our members.” said Bobby Jones, President of CareSource. “We both know the impact of wrap-around support for a healthy lifestyle, especially in the busy community of Atlanta.”

“We strive to bring access and opportunities to all individuals and their families within the community,” said Lauren Koontz, President and Chief Executive Officer of YMCA Metro Atlanta. “The continued relationship between the YMCA and CareSource carries the message that the well-being and improved health of the family are created outside of general medical care. By providing a safe and inclusive environment members can learn healthy behaviors that are impactful throughout their lifetime.”

CareSource and the YMCA extend their commitment to community through the Y’s Days of Service projects each year. Last year, more than 1,600 volunteers provided an array of community support for more than 22 metro-wide service projects over two days in September. This effort made a tremendous collective impact across the communities we serve.

Connecting to and serving the community in order to have a positive impact and promote lasting change, make this meaningful collaboration and partnership extremely important. Offering children and families in low-income communities “access and opportunity,” is true to CareSource and the YMCA’s missions.
