ATLANTA (May 7, 2018) – CareSource, Georgia’s first and only nonprofit managed care organization, presented Meals on Wheels of Coweta, Inc. with a check for $10,000 as a part of the People’s Choice Grant Awards.

Since 2010 the CareSource People’s Choice Award has been an employee driven investment into the nonprofits that are closest to their hearts. CareSource team members are given the opportunity, each quarter, to nominate, vote on, and ultimately award grants to their favorite nonprofits. Since the initial call, $445,000 have been invested into nonprofits of our employee’s choosing.

“Meals on Wheels of Coweta, Inc. is a vital part of Coweta County, and CareSource is honored to present the $10,000 People’s Choice Grant Award to help fund the indispensable services the organization provides to the community,” said Bobby Jones, president of the Georgia market for CareSource.

Meals on Wheels of Coweta, Inc., (MOWOC) was established in 1981 and is designated as the official Meals on Wheels Chapter in Coweta County. More than 25,000 meals are served to MOWOC clients annually. The majority of MOWOC clients live alone with little or no help, and the meal the client receives may be the only meal they eat that day.

“CareSource's very generous award truly is a blessing that will provide over 1,850 meals for our clients. We thank you for helping us combat elder hunger in our county and for helping us show those we serve that they have not been forgotten,” said Lizabeth Andrew, Vice President, Board of Directors, Meals on Wheels of Coweta, Inc.

MOWCC was presented with the $10,000 check today at the organization’s headquarters in Newnan, Ga.
