Before You Are Pregnant
You can take steps to be healthy now if you are thinking about having a baby:
- Keep up with preventive care.
- Stop smoking or using tobacco.
- Do not drink alcohol or use illegal drugs.
Start taking prenatal vitamins even if you aren’t pregnant! Learn more about women’s health.
While You Are Pregnant
See a provider as soon as you know you are pregnant. See them while you are pregnant to help find any issues. Take a prenatal vitamin so you get the nutrients you need. Learn more about a healthy pregnancy.
After You Have Your Baby
Call to tell us that you had a baby. See your provider 3-6 weeks after you have your baby. If you had a C-section or other issues in delivery, see them the first or second week after the baby is born.
