SO MUCH MORE THAN HEALTH INSURANCE

The Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) is a health-insurance program for low income Hoosiers ages 19 to 64, with benefits that include hospital care, mental and behavioral health services, substance abuse treatment, maternity care, doctor visits and prescriptions.

Hoosier Healthwise (HHW) is Indiana’s health care program for children and pregnant women. There are several different program packages under HHW that are tailored for specific groups of people.

At CareSource, we understand there is more to health and well-being than just great health care. That’s why we provide our members with extra help and benefits.

PLANS

CareSource HIP and HHW plans are designed to provide our members with the benefits and coverage needed to live healthy lives. For details on all HIP Plans visit our Healthy Indiana Plan page. For details on all HHW plans please visit our Hoosier Healthwise Plan page.

HIP Plus and HIP Basic Plans

HIP Plus is available to members who make their POWER Account Contribution (PAC).

HIP Basic is offered to members with income at or below the federal poverty level (FPL) who do not make their POWER Account payments.

HIP Plus members pay a monthly PAC based on income and family size.

HIP Basic members pay copays for most health services like doctor visits, prescriptions and hospital stays.

HIP Plus provides best value coverage. Members receive all key health benefits required by federal law, plus vision, dental and chiropractic services, plus extra services like weight loss surgery and jaw care.

HIP Plus members also get more visits to see physical, speech and occupational therapists than the HIP Basic program and extra services like weight loss surgery and jaw care (TMJ).

If you stop making payments as a HIP Plus member, you could lose all benefits or be changed to HIP Basic, which may cost you more.

HHW Standard Plan and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Hoosier Healthwise Standard Plan is a full-service plan for children up to age 19 and pregnant women with low income. Members do not have any cost sharing obligations.

CHIP is part of the Hoosier Healthwise program and serves children up to the age of 19 whose families have slightly higher income. There is a small monthly premium payment and co-pay for some services based on family income.
