Quality Improvement

CareSource always works to improve the quality of care and service for our members. We want members to be happy with the care and services they get. We use measurements to see how well we are doing. Some of the areas of care and service that we look at are:

  • Well-child care
  • Preventive screenings
  • Prenatal and postpartum care
  • Chronic disease management for conditions such as:
    • Asthma
    • Diabetes
    • High blood pressure
  • Care after being in a hospital for a behavioral health condition
  • Care for children given ADHD medicines

We also look at how quickly our members get care and if they got the care they needed from their PCP. We also check to ensure our members get good service from CareSource.

Preventive Health Guidelines

CareSource uses national preventive health guidelines to help members learn about health prevention. These guidelines help members get the health screenings and exams that they need. Learn more about the preventive care guidelines.

CareSource may also call or send members information on health care checkups and screenings they may need.

Members with a chronic condition (such as asthma or diabetes) should:

  • See their PMP regularly,
  • Follow the treatment plan given by their PMP, and
  • Take the medicines their PMP has ordered.

Members can call the CareSource24® number on their member ID card 24/7/365 to talk with a registered nurse. For more information on CareSource Quality Improvement, please call Member Services or view our quality improvement program.
