Request Patient Services

We make it easy for you to request services for your patients. See below for benefit information and instructions to obtain services that enable improved access to care.

Interpreter Services

CareSource offers onsite sign and language interpreters as well as over-the phone (OPI) and video remote interpreting (VRI), when appropriate, for medical appointments outside of the surgical, hospital or emergency room setting*. These services are available to CareSource members who are hearing impaired, do not speak English, or have limited English-speaking proficiency. These services are available at no cost to the member or provider. As a Medicaid provider, you are required to identify when your patients need interpretation services and to offer assistance to them as appropriate. Use the Interpreter Service Request Form to request interpreter services. For questions, please contact our Provider Services department at 1-844-607-2831. We ask that you let us know of members in need of interpreter services, as well as any members that may receive interpreter services through another resource.

*CareSource requires hospitals, emergency rooms and skilled nursing facilities, at their own expense, to offer sign and other language interpreters for members who are hearing impaired, do not speak English, or have limited English-speaking proficiency. This includes providers that perform in-office surgeries. These services should be available at no cost to the member.


All Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) and Hoosier Healthwise (HHW) plans (with the exception of HHW Package C) include transportation benefits. Unlimited trips less than 50 miles are covered with no prior authorization to the locations listed below:

  • Any covered doctor visit or health care appointment
  • The local Women, Infant and Children (WIC) office
  • Service redetermination appointments with the state

Members may schedule a ride by calling 1-844-607-2829 (TTY: 1-800-743-3333 or 711) at least two business days ahead of the appointment.

Member Services

Representatives are available by telephone Monday through Friday, except on the following holidays in 2021: New Year’s Day (January 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 18), Memorial Day (May 31), the day after Independence Day (July 5), Labor Day (September 6), Thanksgiving Day (November 25), the day before Christmas Eve (December 23) and Christmas Eve (December 24).

CareSource24® Nurse Advice Line

Members can call our nurse advice line 24-hours a day, seven days a week. With CareSource24, members have unlimited access to talk with a caring and experienced staff of registered nurses about symptoms or health questions.

Members can call the CareSource24® toll-free number at: 1-844-206-5947 (TTY: 1-800-743-3333 or 711). This number is located on their ID cards.
