Clinical Practice Guidelines
HAP CareSource MI Coordinated Health utilizes evidence-based nationally accepted standards and guidelines from the Michigan Quality Improvement Consortium (MQIC), which is a collaborative effort to develop and implement standard clinical guidelines and performance measures. The MQIC is overseen by the Michigan Association of Health Plans (MAHP), which recognizes the expertise and evidence-based knowledge that the guidelines represent. The CPGs are then adopted through the Market Provider Advisory Committee (PAC). The CPGs are reviewed every two years and are updated as necessary.
The use of these guidelines allows HAP CareSource MI Coordinated Health to measure their impact on member health outcomes. Additional CPGs, identified through review of member population demographics, analytical data, and state/national priorities are developed, discussed and approved through the Market PAC and CareSource Enterprise PAC. Guidelines may include, but are not limited to:
- Behavioral health (e.g., depression)
- Adult health (e.g., hypertension)
- Population health (e.g., obesity)
