The number one predictor of good health is meaningful global relationships. Built on this premise, CareSource has launched the Institute for Relational Health. The IRH will develop, deepen and deploy strategies to improve the health and wellness of families and communities by encouraging and generating greater social connectedness.

CareSource recently hosted the institute’s first global summit in Dayton, Ohio, featuring thought leaders and people with lived experience. Participants discussed policy reforms and changes that can foster a sustained chain-reaction in how individuals with complex health needs and their families are supported to live their best lives, and in how communities are supported to similarly thrive.

The life circumstances of individuals and families are ever changing and thus the services and resources available must be flexible enough to support people in getting what they need, when they need it, without forcing them to make decisions that compromise their personal or family aspirations.

CareSource is leveraging the Institute for Relational Health to inform and strengthen our approach to supporting members in exploring creative and innovative ways to continuously expand upon and nurture the important relationships in their lives. CareSource will work to build networks of support around our members – people that aren’t necessarily paid to be in their lives – and continue learning and sharing how that drives better health.
