The Villages Pinwheels NEWSROOM

On March 31, CareSource participated in the annual Child Abuse Prevention Month Kickoff and Pinwheel Planting event in Indianapolis, joining forces with Prevent Child Abuse Indiana and The Villages of Indiana. The event, which aims to raise awareness and funds for child abuse prevention efforts statewide, involved planting 1,000 blue and silver pinwheels on The Villages' front lawn facing Meridian Street.

“In April, community members will see the blue pinwheels planted across the state,” said Jeff Wittman, director of Prevent Child Abuse Indiana. “They are a visual reminder that it takes all of us to ensure great childhoods—parents, teachers, coaches. Every business and individual can do something to make the community a safer place for children.”

As a long-term partner of The Villages and Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, CareSource is committed to supporting this important cause. Steve Smitherman, president of CareSource Indiana and a member of the Board of Directors for The Villages, expressed his dedication to the event.

"CareSource recognizes the important work both of The Villages and Prevent Child Abuse Indiana,” said Smitherman. “By supporting their missions, we are helping them create better futures for children across the state."
