DAYTON, Ohio (CareSource) - CareSource was recently named the winner of The Foodbank Inc.’s Corporate Volunteer Spirit Award for their ongoing work with numerous food distributions throughout the year.
“Thanks to our strong partnership with CareSource, we have been able to reach more families than ever before,” said Michelle Riley, Chief Executive Officer of The Foodbank. “Their sponsorship of our series of mass food distributions helped us serve a record number of individuals in need with food, hope, and dignity. CareSource continues to go above and beyond by bringing in additional partners with resources outside of food.”

Last year, hundreds of CareSource employees volunteered at seven distributions, serving close to 7,200 local families and distributing more than 600,000 pounds of food. That equates to 721,021 meals distributed to families in need in the Dayton community and surrounding counties.
“Every mass distribution sponsored by CareSource is a testament to the power of collaboration,” said Jesse Reed, director, Life Services, CareSource. “We have a shared goal of creating healthier communities, and these events show just how great our impact can be when community organizations work together.”
A busy schedule of food distributions is now set for 2025 with the first one taking place on Monday, June 2 from 10:00 -12:00 p.m. at the Preble County Fairgrounds. Overall, seven food distributions will take place during 2025.
“Because of CareSource, we’ve created pathways for struggling families to access healthy meals and build brighter futures,” added Riley.
