CareSource employees volunteered at the SE Ohio Foodbank’s mobile distribution at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Wellston Ohio with HAPCAP, UnitedHealthcare, the Jackson City Library, and Hopewell Health Center. The event kicks off a series of mobile distributions with the SE Ohio Foodbank focused on bringing healthy food to rural Ohioans.

“CareSource recognizes the people most greatly affected by inflation are those already struggling to make ends meet,” said Steve Ringel, president of CareSource Ohio. "We are grateful for organizations like HAPCAP and are proud to collaborate with UnitedHealthcare to reinvest in the community through financial and volunteer support of the SE Ohio Foodbank."

This event is thanks to a partnership between CareSource and United Healthcare to support the SE Ohio Foodbank’s mission. Together, the organizations donated $100,000 to provide direct support to some of Ohio’s most rural counties.

“We’re very grateful for the support from CareSource and UnitedHealthcare. We know that food insecurity undermines the health of individuals and communities we serve,” said Kelly Hatas, Executive Director of HAPCAP. “We need strong partnerships with those who are also committed to improving the health of our region to solve this issue.”
