ATLANTA (CARESOURCE) – The CareSource Georgia team recently hosted the members of CareSource’s Child Welfare Advisory Committee for a meeting to continue its work advancing initiatives and programming that helps preserve families. The committee, which is comprised of 15 Georgia experts in child welfare, was created to provide real-world, expert perspectives as CareSource works to support at-risk families. The committee's overall goal is to see CareSource members’ families remain intact and reduce the number of families and children that require child protective services intervention.

“CareSource’s Child Welfare Advisory Committee is a group of highly experienced and passionate individuals, many of whom I have had the pleasure of working with during my three decades in the child welfare space,” said Bobby Cagle, executive director of child welfare for CareSource Georgia. “The committee continues to work helping improve access to behavioral and physical health care, address social determinants of health and keep families together through innovative solutions and community partnerships.”

The group has already provided meaningful insights that have informed the establishment and expansion of several programs and community partnerships, including expanding dental access through the availability of mobile dentistry units and further enhancing CareSource Life Services® program. CareSource Life Services is designed to enhance the economic outcome of Medicaid and Marketplace members by addressing their unique needs through life coaching, access to resources and job opportunities.
