CareSource, in partnership with host Batesville Community School Corporation and co-sponsor Cincinnati Children’s presented the first Batesville Community Schools Health and Wellness Resource Fair in Indiana. Hoosiers enjoyed free food and drinks in addition to receiving opportunities for health screenings, vaccinations, mental health resources, tips on healthy cooking, dental care and vision and hearing screenings.

“CareSource knows how challenging it can be for our rural members to engage in preventative health care opportunities,” said Joakima Doss, Manager of Community Marketing at CareSource Indiana. “It’s our goal to being all these services and providers together in once, easy place.”

This is just one of many events CareSource sponsors across the country. From food distributions with wellness services to a drive though breast cancer event, the organization is seeking innovative opportunities to remove barriers for people living outside of urban settings.

The CDC reports that rural Americans, when compared to their urban counterparts, are more likely to die from heart disease, cancer, unintentional injury, chronic lower respiratory disease and stroke.

CareSource is committed to addressing these gaps in health care and improving health outcomes for rural members.
