CareSource Distributes Food to Jesup Families

JESUP, GEORGIA (October 21st 2022) CareSource, Georgia’s only nonprofit Medicaid provider, hosted a food distribution event with Wayne County Family Connection, today. The food was provided by America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, an organization based in Savannah that serves 21 counties in Georgia, including Wayne County.

“CareSource is committed to meeting our members where they are, which is exactly what we are doing with this event. We are committed to showing up for our members and providing the services they need,” said Jason Anavitarte, director of health equity and life services. “Food insecurity is a major issue in Georgia, and we are working to combat this problem with a hands-on approach in our rural communities across the state.”

CareSource and Wayne County Family Connection volunteers distributed food to over 560 local families, allowing CareSource to impact the community first-hand.

The CareSource Life Services team was present at the event to help connect interested attendees to resources and support. CareSource Life Services works to link individuals to full-time employment opportunities, housing, education, and budgeting and finance support.
