CareSource Foundation announces appointment of Mathile, Mills and Ward to Board of Directors

DAYTON, Ohio (CareSource) – The CareSource Foundation today announced the appointment of Michelle Mathile, Barbara Mills and Rev. Vanessa Oliver Ward to its board of directors. They bring a wealth of experience in philanthropy, community leadership and a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of underserved populations.

“The addition of Michelle, Barbara and Vanessa to the CareSource Foundation board represents an exciting new chapter for us,” said Ellen Miller, vice president, community relations and the CareSource Foundation. “Their leadership and vision align perfectly with our values and goals, and their achievements speak volumes. Together, we can expand our impact and ensure underserved communities have access to the resources they need to thrive.”

Michelle Mathile is a recognized leader in advancing social justice and empowering communities. She has focused on improving access to education, housing, transportation and other essential services for under-resourced women, children and families. Mathile serves as chair of The Glen at St. Joseph and on the boards of the Mathile Family Foundation, the University of Dayton and other organizations.

Barbara Mills, co-founder of the Gala of Hope Foundation, is an accomplished advocate for cancer patients and families in the Dayton region. Under her leadership, the foundation has raised and invested over $6 million in local cancer research, treatments and patient support. In addition to her philanthropic work, Mills serves as statewide chair of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Ohio and as a board member of other prominent organizations, including the First Ladies Charitable Foundation.

Rev. Vanessa Oliver Ward is the President of the Omega Community Development Corporation (Omega CDC) and Pastor Emerita of the Omega Baptist Church. As President of the Omega CDC, she oversees the organization’s mission of breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty by catalyzing change in Northwest Dayton. She is a member of the Kettering Health Board of Directors, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce of Trustees, the Sinclair College Board of Trustees, the Dayton Police Chief’s Advisory Council and other leading organizations.

“Their insights will be invaluable as we continue our mission to support communities and create opportunities for those in need in both our existing and emerging markets,” added Miller.
