CareSource Indiana welcomes Dr. Beena Joseph as Chief Medical Officer

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (CareSource) - CareSource, a nonprofit managed care entity, announced the appointment of Beena M. Joseph, MD, FAAP, as the new Vice President and Market Chief Medical Officer in Indiana. Dr. Joseph will focus on strengthening provider relationships, enhancing health literacy and expanding access to health care services for families in Indiana.
Dr. Joseph brings over 25 years of pediatric experience and a strong commitment to community health, advocacy and improving health care delivery for underserved populations. She most recently served as the Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Open Door Health Services where she provided direct pediatric care while overseeing clinical operations, quality improvement and compliance to enhance health care for patients in medically underserved communities.
“Dr. Joseph's extensive experience in community-based health care strengthens our understanding of provider needs and our commitment to delivering high-quality care to our members,” said Cameual Wright, MD, MBA, president of CareSource Indiana. “Her background in serving vulnerable populations will further enhance our collaborative partnership with the state, enabling us to more effectively address the needs of those we serve together.”
Dr. Joseph has provided pediatric care in a range of health care settings throughout Indiana, specializing in the treatment of newborns to adolescents. Her expertise includes developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders and pediatric psychiatry.
“Joining a nonprofit like CareSource allows me to merge my passion for pediatric health care with community engagement,” said Dr. Joseph. “True health extends beyond the clinic; it involves addressing the social factors that impact our children's well-being. By fostering strong relationships with families and community organizations, I can advocate for holistic solutions that empower vulnerable populations and share their stories.”
Dr. Joseph has been recognized for her contributions to the field, receiving numerous awards, including the Athena Leadership Award Nominee and the Silver Medal for Best in Muncie from the Muncie Quest. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves on the Board of Prevent Child Abuse of Delaware County. In addition to her clinical expertise, she is the President of Asha S. Joseph Crown of Hope Charities, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children in need in both India and the U.S.
