2023 Over-The-Counter (OTC) Benefits

Getting the everyday health and wellness items you need is easy with your plan’s Over-the-Counter (OTC) benefits.

Each quarter, as an Ohio MyCare Medicare-Medicaid member, you receive an OTC allowance to obtain eligible items by ordering from the CareSource OTC benefit catalog for home delivery or by making purchases at participating retailers with your FlexCard. The benefit catalog is mailed to you shortly after the new benefit year or upon enrollment. You can also view a copy of the catalog.

Using the Quarterly OTC Benefit

Your OTC allowance is available per calendar quarter and does not roll-over into the next calendar quarter. There are four quarters throughout the year:

  • January-March
  • April-June
  • July-September
  • October-December.

You must use your $100 allowance by the end of each quarter. Please see your Summary of Benefits or MyCare Member Handbook for your quarterly OTC benefit dollar amount. Your OTC quarterly allowance can be used in any combination of orders from the OTC catalog, online, on the phone or at a participating retailer using your FlexCard. Your catalog orders must be received by the last day of the quarter to apply to that quarter.
