The Healthy Benefits+ debit card provides members $205 per month in 2027 to purchase qualifying over-the-counter (OTC), dental, vision and hearing items, services and accessories at eligible locations.

Members approved for Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI) may also use their $205 monthly allowance for the following qualifying items and services at eligible locations:

  • Healthy food1
  • Utilities1
  • Rent & mortgage assistance1
  • Household cleaning supplies1

According to CMS guidelines, to be eligible for SSBCI, you must meet all of the following criteria and be approved by the health plan before benefits are provided:

  1. Have one or more qualifying conditions;
  2. Have a high risk of hospitalization or other adverse health outcomes; and

Having one of the qualifying conditions does not automatically qualify you for SSBCI benefits. Eligibility is determined by the plan, and you will be notified if you qualify. If CareSource is unable to verify that the eligibility requirements have been met, SSBCI benefits will not be available.

Benefits will be activated only after eligibility has been confirmed. Once eligibility is approved, SSBCI benefits will become available within 10 business days of the confirmation date. Please allow this time for processing and activation.
