Starting January 1, 2026, Ohio will begin the new Next Generation MyCare Ohio program. MyCare Ohio is a managed care program designed for Ohioans who receive BOTH Medicare and Medicaid benefits.
What Does This Mean for You?
Our new CareSource® MyCare Ohio (HMO D-SNP) plan is designed to deliver you a better person-centered care experience.
- You’ll have one care coordinator to help manage both your Medicare and Medicaid benefits.
- One ID Card.
- Only one organization will handle your care, making it simpler for you.

Important Dates to Know:
- Fall 2025: You will start getting information from the Ohio Department of Medicaid and CareSource on the new plan. It will outline what’s available for you.
- January 1, 2026: Next Generation MyCare Ohio plans will begin covering the full Medicare and Medicaid benefits for people who qualify in the 29 counties where MyCare Ohio is currently available. See the phase map from the Ohio Department of Medicaid.
- April 1, 2026 – Onward: Next Generation MyCare Ohio will expand to the remaining Ohio counties.*
