Eric Van Allen, President, Arkansas Market – CareSource PASSE™

Eric Van Allen is the president of CareSource’s Arkansas Market, CareSource PASSE™, responsible for strategy, operations, provider partnerships and member experience to ensure high-quality, coordinated care for members with complex behavioral, developmental or intellectual disabilities. Eric previously served as vice president of business development for CareSource, where he led efforts for statewide managed care programs and built a pipeline of market and product growth opportunities.
Eric brings more than 25 years of health care experience, developing behavioral health and wellness programs and supporting Medicaid-funded social service systems. Prior to CareSource, he served in multiple leadership roles for Beacon Health Options including as CEO for Beacon Kansas and in program development nationally, including Arkansas, where he led the expansion of specialty management programs to improve the delivery of care for members.
Prior to joining the private sector, Eric served in federal and state government. He was a program officer in the Medicaid Integrity Group at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he supported the development of the first national Medicaid managed care audit protocols. He also served as the assistant director of mental health services for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, where he introduced managed behavioral health care to the state of Kansas.
Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and life science from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas. He is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and a referee for Mid-American Rugby Union.
