Health and Wellness
As a CareSource member you receive two dental exams every year.
You can choose from a large selection of certain stylish eyeglass frames, including wire rim frames. These frames are available, in addition to those approved by Medicaid, at no cost to you. Ask your vision care provider to show you what frames are available to you from CareSource.
Getting the proper care when you are pregnant is not just good medicine, it’s rewarding, too! Earn rewards for going to the doctor while you are pregnant and after your baby is born. Learn more about the Babies First program.
Please Note: CareSource wants to make sure you have what you need for each new baby. Please enroll every time you are pregnant. It’s easy to do. Just complete the Babies First Registration Form, click “Submit” and you’re done! Your My CareSource Rewards® Card will be loaded for your new baby.
CareSource wants to make sure kids have what they need to live a healthy lifestyle. The Kids First program helps your child earn rewards by going to regular checkups, dental care, flu shots and more. Kids ages 16 months to 18 years old can earn rewards in the program.
Here is how your child can earn rewards:
- See the doctor for regular well-child visits.
- See the dentist for regular dental visits.
- Get age-appropriate vaccinations (shots).
- Get an annual flu shot.
- Attend follow-up visits after an ADHD diagnosis.
Sign your child up for Kids First online or by calling Member Services at 1-800-488-0134 (TTY: 1-800-750-0750 or 711. After signing up, your child will receive a My CareSource Rewards® card and a brochure that explains the program and what to expect from us. Please allow 10 to 14 business days to receive the card and brochure. After you receive the card, there are two ways to activate it. You can call 1-888-682-2400 or go to www.myotccard.com and enter your 19-digit card number. This number is listed on the front of your card.
Rewards will be loaded to your child’s My CareSource Rewards card once we receive a claim for your child’s healthy activity. Please allow up to 30 days from the time we receive the claim until the reward is loaded to your child’s card. We will notify you when your child receives a reward. Be sure to let us know how you would like to be notified — by letter, text or email – by setting your communication preference in your My CareSource® account.
After rewards are loaded to your child’s card, you can purchase items for your child. This card works at many local stores. You will get a list of approved stores with your card when it comes in the mail.

Text4Baby: Support for members during and after pregnancy
Whether you are expecting your first child or your third, many questions may run through your mind before and after your baby is born, such as:
- What kind of exercise can I do while I’m pregnant?
- What are the right things to eat?
- What changes will I go through during the first few months of being pregnant?
- Is it OK for my baby to sleep with me in my bed?
Text4Baby can help answer these questions and more. When you sign up, you will get up to three text messages a week right to your cell phone. These text messages are tailored to where you are in your pregnancy. Texts will also include things like reminders to choose a pediatrician before your baby is born or make a postpartum visit appointment after delivery.
Through MyHealth, adults 18 and up have access to an interactive health assessment and personalized health tools. Track exercise goals. Get small step interactive guides that help you manage health and wellness topics specific to your needs. You can even earn rewards for some activities. To get started, simply log in to your My CareSource account.
Take charge of your mental health and try our wellness tool called myStrength. This is a safe and secure tool designed just for you. It offers personalized support to help improve your mood, mind, body and spirit. You can access it online or on your mobile device at no cost to you. myStrength offers online learning, empowering self-help tools, wellness resources and inspirational quotes and articles.
You can visit myStrength for more information and to sign up. Complete the myStrength sign-up process and personal profile. You can also download the myStrength app for iOS and Android devices and SIGN IN using your login email and password.
CareSource Life Services offers services and support that can pave the way from where you are to where you want to be. Life Services offers tools to help you balance work and life and to remove barriers that stand in the way of reaching your dreams. Easy Access to Care
Sometimes you need medical care, but you can’t see your primary care provider (PCP). CareSource makes it easy to get care for common health needs. For information about all of the options available to you, see where to get care.
CareSource24: 24-Hour Nurse Advice Line
You can call CareSource24® the 24-Hour Nurse Advice Line any time you have a question about your health. A caring registered nurse will answer your questions and can even help you decide what kind of care you need. Nurses are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The number is on your member ID card.
Convenience Care Clinics and Urgent Care Centers
Need care quick or after hours? The CareSource network includes urgent care centers and retail health clinics inside drug and grocery stores to help you get care when and where you need it. These clinics often have evening and weekend hours and allow walk-ins. You can find these network providers through our online search tool, Find a Doctor.
Care and Disease Management Programs
You have full access to a continuum of services with community-based, care coordination teams to meet your personal needs. You also have access to disease management programs to help you learn about certain ongoing health conditions. Learn more.

Do you need a ride to the doctor? CareSource can help. We will pay a driver to take you there and bring you back. You can get a ride to:
- Any doctor visit or health care appointment
- The local Women, Infants and Children (WIC) office
- Medicaid redetermination appointments at the County Department of Job and Family Services
You can also call us if you have a transportation complaint or issue.
If you must travel 30 miles or more from your home to get covered health care services, CareSource will provide transportation to and from the provider’s office. Additionally, each CareSource member can ask for 15 free rides (30 one-way trips) per calendar year for trips less than 30 miles. Remember, if you have an emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency room.
To Schedule a Ride
You can reach our transportation vendor by calling CareSource Member Services toll-free at 1-800-488-0134 (TDD/TTY: 1-800-750-0750 or 711). You will be directed to the Member prompt. Once there, say “transportation.” You can speak with a transportation representative from 7 a.m. to
7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Transportation can be scheduled through a message system after hours and on weekends. All messages are returned within one day.

- Call and get your ride lined up two business days (48 hours) before your scheduled medical visit.
- CareSource may call your doctor’s office to verify the doctor visit.
